Down the Stairs — Charity Vertical Marathon for Down Syndrome

Down's syndrome is the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21, causing congenital defects, such as heart disease, hypotonia, intellectual disability, and other diseases, and may also be accompanied by vision, hearing, skin, and bone conditions. To raise awareness, Down Syndrome International celebrates March 21 as World Down syndrome Day (WDSD), which has been observed by the world since 2006. Other than garnering public support, WDSD encourages people with Down syndrome and mental disabilities to make themselves visible and show their perseverance and passion for life.

In 2019, CITYLINK Nangang and Down Syndrome Foundation ROC held the "Down the Stairs with Love" Charity Vertical Marathon. In addition to participants with Down Syndrome, this inspiring event also included a sheltered workshop sales and performances from people with Down Syndrome.
Contestants were all pleased to be in this meaningful charity vertical marathon to challenge themselves.

This was my first vertical marathon. I did it for the experience and charity. I was freaking out before even starting, but it turned out great. I'd like to do it again!

I learned about this event because the company was a sponsor. I want to do my best to help disadvantaged people.
