A Legacy of Giving, Advancing Healthcare Together: Honoring President Samual Yin's Longstanding Support for Healthcare Professionals and Medical Advancement

On the morning of August 14, Taipei Veterans General Hospital (VGH-TPE) held an unveiling ceremony for a commemorative plaque honoring President Samuel Yin.

The ceremony was presided over by VGH-TPE Superintendent Wei-Ming Chen and attended by President Yin’s wife; his son, Chung-Yao Yin, Chairman of Nan Shan Life Insurance Company, Ltd.; executives of Ruentex Group; and VGH-TPE vice superintendents and senior executives. Together, they commemorated President Yin’s longstanding support for VGH-TPE, his care for healthcare professionals, and his contributions to the advancement of healthcare.

The ceremony was held on the eve of President Yin’s birthday to honor and remember his many years of support and dedication to VGH-TPE. During the ceremony, VGH-TPE presented a specially produced memorial video featuring treasured footage and historical records that reflected on the many years President Yin and VGH-TPE had shared along the way. Familiar images and cherished memories moved many of those in attendance to tears, once again bringing to life the enduring bond built over the years.

Throughout his life, President Yin maintained a low profile and firmly believed in doing good without seeking recognition, dedicating himself for many years to healthcare and charitable causes. His support extended beyond major healthcare infrastructure projects to include the well-being of healthcare professionals, talent development, medical research, and international exchange. The commemorative plaque not only expresses remembrance and gratitude for President Yin, but also carries forward the care and trust he embodied, serving as a source of inspiration for VGH-TPE as it continues to enhance the quality of healthcare, cultivate outstanding talent, and give back to society.
