Ruentex Development continues to advance its low-carbon transition and uphold its commitment to sustainable development. In collaboration with the Taipei City Department of Environmental Protection and Aiai Nursing Home, the Company has completed Taiwan’s first greenhouse gas offset project under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) framework that integrates energy-efficiency improvements for a social welfare institution. The project demonstrates how carbon offset initiatives can advance a just transition by delivering environmental benefits while improving community well-being.
As part of the initiative, Ruentex Development invested more than NT$870,000 to replace nine aging air-conditioning units that had been in service for over 13 years at Aiai Nursing Home. The upgrade is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 17 metric tons of CO₂e while improving energy efficiency and enhancing the living and care environment for elderly residents, transforming carbon reduction efforts into tangible social value.
