As sustainability becomes a global priority, one of the greatest challenges is translating ESG principles into everyday actions rather than leaving them as policies or aspirations. Following the successful sell-out of The Silk Court—one of Ruentex Development’s signature luxury residential developments—the establishment of its homeowners’ association, and the handover of its shared amenities, Ruentex Development continues to work alongside residents to foster a warm, resilient, and sustainable community.

This Christmas, Ruentex Development partnered with Cooking & Living to host a Christmas Community Dinner, bringing people together through food while promoting sustainable living, healthy lifestyles, and community engagement.

Cooking & Living is a lifestyle brand dedicated to fostering connections between the origins of food, agricultural ecosystems, and consumers’ everyday lives. Through curated events, themed dining experiences, and sustainability education, the brand transforms sustainability from an abstract concept into a practical and enjoyable way of life.

The menu was created in collaboration with Chef Sasa (Ning-Chi Lu) of Des Glaneuses Bakery & Kitchen, recipient of the 2025 Green Dining Guide Chef of the Year Award. Together, they created a festive menu that brought Cooking & Living’s long-standing commitment to sustainable dining to life while reflecting both culinary excellence and environmental responsibility.

Environment (E): Understanding the Impact of Every Meal

Food is part of everyday life, yet its environmental impact often goes unnoticed. Through an interactive session led by the chef, residents explored the origins of each ingredient, sustainable farming practices, and the environmental significance behind every dish.

By supporting sustainable agriculture, embracing seasonal ingredients, and reducing unnecessary waste and excessive food processing, each meal became more than a dining experience—it invited residents to explore the relationship between food, agricultural ecosystems, and everyday life.

By using the dining table as a platform for sustainability education, Cooking & Living made environmental concepts more accessible and relevant to everyday life. This philosophy aligns with Ruentex Development’s commitment to creating sustainable lifestyles that extend beyond buildings and into everyday living.

Social (S): Strengthening Community Bonds Through Shared Dining Experiences

Beyond environmental sustainability, the Christmas Gathering also reflected the social dimension of ESG by creating opportunities for residents to connect through shared dining experiences. Around the dining table, neighbors got to know one another, shared stories, and formed new friendships in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

More than simply providing a festive meal, the event encouraged meaningful interactions among residents, fostering a stronger sense of belonging. It also demonstrated how thoughtfully curated activities can transform residential spaces into places where residents connect, engage, and build lasting relationships.
